A robotics team for Butte County high school students beat out more than 50 other teams to win fourth place at a regional robotics competition in Sacramento last month.

Thunderbird Robotics, a robotics organization for Butte County high school students that is based at Las Plumas High, won fourth place at the FIRST Robotics Competition at UC Davis March 22-25. FIRST, a nonprofit organization designed to promote young people’s interest in science, holds the regional competition annually.
