From an Enloe Medical Center Press Release

Enloe Medical Center opened registration and fundraising for the Heart & Sole: Run for Wellness, adding new features and options in the fourth year of the event. It will take place Saturday, March 10, from 7 a.m. to noon in Bidwell Park’s One Mile Recreational Area. Registration is required by Feb. 18 to get a 2018 event T-shirt.

New this year, each participant will receive a finisher’s medal as they cross the finish line. Also, participants ages 7 and up will get a T-shirt when they register by Sunday, Feb. 18, or they can choose the “No T-shirt” option for a reduced cost. In another new change, people can sign up to fundraise without running or walking.

As always, healthy refreshments and post-run activities for all ages will be available. All proceeds will support the building of the forthcoming Cardiovascular Care Center at Enloe.

“Enloe’s Heart & Sole: Run for Wellness is a fun way to celebrate the ‘heart’ of our community,” said Deanna Squires, Enloe’s community outreach coordinator. “For Enloe, it is important to give local community members this opportunity to be active and inspire one another toward wellness while also working together to expand services that address Butte County’s growing rate of heart disease.”

Registration and fundraising signups can be done at, or by texting “Enloerun” to 71777 from a mobile device. Registrants can sign up individually or as a team.

Registration fees are $30 for general entry with a T-shirt, or $20 without, when signing up by Sunday, Feb. 18. For seniors 65 years old and up, and children age 7 to 12, the cost is $20 with a T-shirt or $10 without. For children 6 and under, registration is free, and T-shirts are not available.

After Feb. 18, the 2018 T-shirts will not be available and fees will increase to $30 for general entry, $20 for seniors 65 and older, or children 7 to 12 years old, for registration through March 10.

Sponsorships are still being accepted for this year’s event. Interested parties may complete a sponsorship form at or call Micah Browning at the Enloe Foundation, at (530) 332-4568.

About the Cardiovascular Care Center & Campaign

Heart disease in Butte County is nearly twice the state average, and the rate is growing. The Cardiovascular Care Center will double the current capacity for heart care at Enloe and will include new procedure rooms, equipment, patient bays and diagnostic treatment areas, a family lounge, and a private meeting room for physicians and patients’ families.

The Enloe Foundation’s Cardiovascular Care Center Campaign helps ensure that resources will continue to be available for generations to come.
