From Executive Director Amanda Ree: Good Afternoon, As you likely know, fire crews are actively responding to the Camp Fire in Butte County. Since evacuations began, the American Red Cross has been providing safe shelter to residents at the following three sites in the impacted area:
In addition to lodging, Red Cross volunteers are on site providing meals, health services and comfort for affected residents. Also, please remember that the Red Cross hosts a valuable resource in Safe and Well: an easy-to-use online tool that allows loved ones to reconnect in the case they have been separated during a disaster. The Safe and Well website also allows individuals to notify loved ones that they are safe during an emergency. Please feel free to share this resource as appropriate. As we know, fire behavior is unpredictable. As such, the American Red Cross remains poised and ready to support as the situation, and the need, develops. Should you have questions or need any additional information, please do not hesitate to reach out. I will continue to reach out and ensure that your office is updated with the latest information. Your local Red Cross chapter in Northeastern California is present 365 days a year and the American Red Cross stands ready to continue to provide hope and comfort to any in need. Sincerely, Amanda Ree
