We spoke with Michelle Miller from the Kiwanis Club of Oroville to find out more about one of our local community organizations. You can see some of what they do on May 11 during the Feather Fiesta Days. The Kiwanis Club will be hosting their 71st Annual Kiddies Day Parade with the theme being “Under the Sea”. Click here if you are interested in being part of this year’s parade.

Michelle told us that, “Kiwanis is an organization of people who want to improve the communities in which they live and work. Membership in a Kiwanis Club can provide you with an avenue to become involved in your community and to participate with business and community leaders. Kiwanis lends the energy of a local volunteer organization to accomplish worthwhile service endeavors for the children of our community. Join us on Wednesdays at 12:00pm at Hof Brau on Table Mountain Blvd.”

The Kiwanis Club shows their commitment to the children of our community by hosting events like the Kiddies Day Parade and the “Hooked on Fishing, Not Drugs” fishing derby. This year the “Hooked on Fishing, Not Drugs” fishing derby will take place on Saturday, June 2 at Bedrock Park. This free event is for all children up to age 12 and gives them an opportunity to catch a fish, enjoy a pancake breakfast, win prizes, and more. Click here for more information on this event.
Show your support to this great local organization by joining them Wednesdays at The Hof Brau, or learn more about them by clicking here.
