Dean Gurr and his wife Monique met at a photo conference in 1986. This meeting led up to the creation of our local Creative Imaging Center. They first started with a 1 hour photo processing center and a home operated studio. Over the last 32 years they have combined those operations and we now have Creative Imaging Center.
The business has moved between a few locations, but has been at its current location at 2061 Montgomery Street since 2006. They specialize in school & youth sports photography, family portraits, senior portraits, and event photography. Dean told us that he wouldn’t want to do business anywhere else. Here they are connected to the Oroville community in their personal and professional lives. Dean said the people are great and Oroville has great businesses.

Dean and Monique have always been a part of the Oroville community. Creative Imaging Center first became a Chamber member in the mid-1990s, and Dean was even president for six months. He has also been part of the Rotary Club for the past five years and will take the position of president this upcoming July. Through Rotary they have been able to send students from Las Plumas High School to Camp RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) and award scholarships. Alongside that, Dean is also a Past Master of the Oroville Masonic Lodge.

Creative Imaging Center gives back to the community through Rotary programs, rebates to youth organizations they photograph, and donations to youth organizations like The Axiom.
