Sacramento District Office is Recruiting for the Emerging Leaders Initiative
From a U.S. Small Business Administration Press Release
The Sacramento District Office is excited to bring back the Emerging Leaders initiative for the third year. The program begins in April 2018 and SBA is seeking executives of businesses that are poised for growth. The Emerging Leaders initiative provides executives with the organizational framework, resource network, and motivation required to build sustainable businesses and promote the growth of their business by creating a three year strategic plan that allows the small business person to track their key performance indicators (KPI’s).
SBA’s initiative of Emerging Leaders has resulted in entrepreneurial success that generates new jobs, attracts investment, and provides a more sustainable economic base in the communities it has been offered. The Emerging Leaders Initiative has aided over 2,000 small business owners in sustaining and growing their businesses with a job creation rate of 5.8 jobs per business.
A recent graduate, Robert Merwin, President of First Vanguard Rentals & Sales Inc. said; “I found the Emerging Leaders program exceptionally helpful. Each CEO worked on their company throughout the process and when we finished, I had a 3 year growth plan for years 4-6, a good understanding of my KPI’s, how to talk with bankers and get funded, I met some dynamic CEO’s from all walks of life and we still meet every other month. Great instructors, and guest lecturers, and its free. How you can you beat that?”
District Director, Heather Luzzi, encourages small businesses to consider this program; “Graduates of this program have benefited greatly. In fact, 70% of the participant companies have increased their revenue by an average of 43%. The impact of the program on these companies is incredible. The results are real, but it takes hard work and dedication to complete the program.”
Over the course of seven months, participants are given the opportunity to work with experienced mentors, attend specialized workshops and develop connections with their peers, city leaders, and the financial community. Government statistics confirm that small businesses are the engines of sustained economic growth and job creation. Small businesses involved in the Emerging Leaders Initiative have seen real, measured successes following their graduation with the program. SBA launched the Initiative to capitalize on this proven capacity for stimulating jobs and growth in America’s cities.
The Emerging Leaders Initiative is an intensive executive-level series intended to accelerate the growth of high-potential small businesses in America. Developed by SBA and drawing on the experiences of advisors and business leaders across the country, this comprehensive curriculum provides the tools to catapult your company to the next level and help it emerge as a force in your community.
